  • MONTEVERDI is a collection of clothing designed to incorporate music sheets into resonant forms. The music school in Montpelier, VT called MONTEVERDI donated the music books for this project. Although music carries its own function as a language of emotions expressed in subtle varieties, a musical score in its visual state also articulates something extra-musical. The cadences of exuberance to regret flow up and down and across in a complex pattern of signs and symbols that only musicians understand. However, in 'Monteverdi' these conventions of music dissolve into another forte. We don’t HEAR the music we SEE the music as a patterned fabric of paper, transposing the music from its pure musical meaning into tuneful attire.
