  • 2008 collection::: “I always feel better when I put my uniform on…”

In my 2008 collection, I have created apparel that represents a cluster of identities, which play with and manipulate appropriated text from fiction, philosophy, comics and newspapers. These identities are my muses that entertain in idea-driven designs. With leathers, chains, recycled and sewn clothing along with athletic couture I fuse fragments from the dress of non-western cultures into wearable garments. This apparel on the body re-shape the figure into sculptural metaphors, which ‘juxtapose’ pop cultural references against colored fabrics and overlays of text patterns. My works are personal narratives that deliver a flare for ornament without constraints and an eye for detail from head to toe.
